Photograph of the retrieved femoral head and liner of the squeaking hip of a 46-year-old-main. At retrieval there was no evidence of impingement on either the neck or the rim of the titanium shell. The ceramic bearing showed a large area of wear due to edge loading, highlighted using a surgical marking pen and removing excess ink with a dry cloth.
